BLUE AND GRAY RUG SHOW

Each month at the Blue and Gray Rug Hooking meeting one of the members is responsible for giving us a rug show. This month it was Doloros's turn. Enjoy!

All of the above rugs were our show plus

many that I didn't get pictures of.
This is a rug in process and it is being

hooked by Brenda
Brenda just finished this lovely pictorial
This dog rug was hooked by Joan. Note the

interesting border
This is not a hooked piece! It belongs to

Thelma. It is worked like a penny rug

would be done - all applied pieces and

absolutely adorable.

I always enjoy not only the rug show at Blue and Gray but the companionship and the willingness of all of the ladies there to share their knowledge. It is a group that is a pleasure to attend.

*************************

I will be attending a local hook-in on Friday so look for more rug pictures next week. This is really an area that is in to rug hooking in a big way .

Thanks for the pictures! I wish I had been there.
Too much to do and too little time.
Next month the leaves will be out on the trees so it should be a delightful drive, plus beautiful rugs to enjoy.

Lovely rugs! I really like the tree one with the owl, dragon fly, squirrel and deer... probably more animals hidden in there... but oh so nice!

They are all beautiful but the tree rug (4th photo, I think) is absolutely stunning. Have fun Friday.

Doris, thanks for the beautiful rug show again. I think that it's so nice of you to do that.

I'm with Kim about the tree rug. It's gorgeous and I quite like the geometrical rug too.

I hope that you have fun at your hook in on Friday. There's nothing like getting together with someone who share our passion to get us all energized.

I think that I have to start over with my sourdough starter as it's been the 5th day today and nothing is bubbling yet.

I think that , I've killed it with kindness when I put it in the sun to warm it up and perhaps it got too hot for the yeast. It was rather cold in the house at the time. I'll start another batch tomorrow and this time I'll be a bit more careful. JB

It's me again Doris. I used a stainless steel bowl and I had the bowl covered with a plastic and I had punched a small hole in it for the gas to escape and probably the metal got too hot. I don't have a pottery bowl so next time I'll try using a very large glass bottle and I will make sure that it stays evenly warm at the temperature recommended.

Thanks for telling me not to use a metal bowl. My son in law uses a large glass bottle and his usually takes about 5 days to work.

I'll try again tomorrow if times allows. I'll get it right sooner or later. I have tons of patience. Do you stir your starter often before it starts working? JB

Thanks for the rug show Doris. Lucky gal you are to go to all these different hook-ins and absorb all this inspiration! I think I need to move more west - we have nothing like it around here!
