WEEKEND STUFF -
Eloise was outside on the deck late Friday night and when I went out to get her , Lady Moon was so beautiful. I wish I had pushed the enlarge button a few more times for a better picture. What a wonderful start to the weekend!
This beautiful moon, no halo, just beautiful clear and golden.
Like many other blogers I am in love with the trees
this time of year.
The street of our community, a one mile cul de sac is
lined with red and gold - Maryland's beauty at it's best.
Saturday morning when I let Eloise out I saw this sight of the barn from the deck - what made it look so different - what had happened to the roof?
it's time for the storm door on the kitchen entrance!

I was really surprised and knew that the time had
come to get my deck plants in the house.
Richard arrived and I announced to him thatit's time for the storm door on the kitchen entrance!
storm pane was in and the door secured.
pumpkin pies. My family is not into crust so I make the crustless
type. This receipe appeared on the Bisquick box several
years ago and has proved to be a winner.
I put a bit of Jack Daniels in mine. Just gives it that
little zing what helps Thanksgiving and Christmas
to taste better.
in the crock pot with lots of pickling spice and
garlic. The large slices on the top of the beef
are from the largest garlic clove I have ever seen.
I added cabbage to the pot. Oh, my goodness, the whole
house smelled of garlic and pie spices.
What could be better.
than a Saturday night supper of comfort food?
A glass of wine, a bowl of homemade beef/barley soup,
open faced grilled cheese on homemade sourdough
bread and a good book.
Here's hoping that everyone had as nice a weekend as I did!

Love all that comfort food and the glass of wine and the beautiful moon. It all calls for a relaxing evening curled up with a good book, I agree, it doesn't get any better than that. JB
Hi Doris,
I see all the nesting instincts have hit you too! Time to batten down the hatches and prepare for the big change! Love the idea of JD in the pumpkin pie! Will have to try that! I'm hungry for corned beef dinner now!

Thanks for the fall pictures. The frost on the roof is beautiful to look at, but I hate what it signals :(
The pie looks so yummy. You're making me hungry.
Hugs to Eloise :)

Oh my, Doris, you have been busy! Isn't it nice when the weather gets cooler and we once again feel like cooking and baking? It all looks delicious! Zip and I love corned beef in the crock pot.
Thanks so much for the sourdough starter. Since I have a day at home tomorrow, I'm going to try the bread. Your grilled cheese looks yummy!
Nice to have Richard to help with the big chores around the house. Sounded like a nice relaxing weekend doing what you enjoy...
Wow you've been busy - Oh by the way - pumpkin pie is my favorite! LOL Those pics look good enough to eat! Crustless? Do you make it the same way just without the crust (hey save carbs somewhere!) Funny - I just bought a brisket - only made one once in my life before - figured I'd try it in the crock pot too! We shall see how it turns out!
Now THAT's some good comfort food! All of it! YUM!
Wonderful photos Doris. What a gorgeous full moon.
Pumpkin pie with JD.......you are a genius!! I have got to try that.
