PICTORIAL UPDATE -

It has been some time since I did a pictorial update. The pictorial that I am working on is quite large. It will be 5'4" x 3'10" when I add a 3" border. Several friends have asked for a pictorial update - so here goes.
This is "Bossy" cow in all her glory. I loved hooking her
she was great fun to do.
I finally got the third pig done. Now the whole family is complete!

I had great qualms about doing the sheep,
There were no sheep in my past and I wasn't quite sure how
to hook them. I think the little one got really
cute.
These items are in the wagon. A basket, chairs,
note the hen sitting in the chair, a trunk,
table desk and barrel.

This is a closeup of my gravel/muddy road.
I am using 5 different wools to create the effect
that I want. The shades of brown were dyed
with walnut hulls from the tree in my
front yard.
All in all, I am pleased with they way it is coming along. I had hoped to have more done by this time, but with the heat and other unexpected things this summer , I didn't get as much hooking done as I wanted to. Also, I have reworked a large section of the road to get the effect that I wanted and I am now pleased with it.
There is more to do with the wagon and the people therein. I am saving them to do later since that is the fun part of the hooking. As soon as I do more of the road, which is like doing background, I will start on the large tree on the right hand side of the pic and then do some of the buildings in the background.
I know that all of you must think that hooking is all of my life. Honestly, it is a large part of my life but there are many other things that I am interested in. I am going to try to diversity my blog to some degree in future posts in the hopes that I won't bore you to death.
It is raining cats and dogs today and is perfect for reading a book or just napping and dreaming. Hope all of you have a wonderful week.

You will NEVER bore us with pictures of your hooking :) I'd love to see a picture of the entire rug, but because of its size, I'm not sure it is possible. What a wonderful rug!
Pug hugs :)

Doris,
This rug is amazing. The detail and the expressions on all the animals is truly beautiful.
Like Rugs and Pugs, I am anxious to see the entire rug.

Doris, Your rug just keeps getting better and better! The road looks great. I know it was a disappointment to have to take out part of it, but it is more realistic looking now. Hope you are having a nice relaxing day hooking, reading and whatever while the rain keeps on coming.
I guess Eloise is under the covers???
