A LOVELY SUNDAY

Last Sunday was a beautiful day
in this part of the country.
My daughter Joan and I got together
for the day (we left her husband at home
to watch the hockey game) while we
went antique hunting.
We are both avid collectors of
porcelain and glass.

I spent a lot of time looking at the books.
Ah, so many to choose from!
However, I didn't find any cook books that
I didn't already own.
I

A cabinet full of pottery, some very nice
Weller and Roseville pieces.

Steins and some very nice art glass
pieces

The very first thing I ever collected was
Pickle Castors.  This cabinet was full and certainly had
some lovely ones.  I have since sold my
collection and moved on to other things.
A view down the aisle of one of the
shops
This was a very nice quilt.  The colors were
soft and lovely.  We also saw several old
hooked rugs with outrageous prices on them.

Porcelain and some interesting carved animals.
I can't believe that we came away empty
handed.  Seems as tho many of the booths are
empty and there was not as many elegant
antiques as we have seen in the past.

However after window shopping for
quite a while we went to one of our favorite
restaurants and had a lovely dinner.
I had chicken breast with artichokes
in a lemon butter sauce together with a
margarita - who could ask for more on a Sunday afternoon?
Now if you think that was fun, wait until I
tell you what I did on Wednesday!
Next posting!!!

Thought for the day -
The only failure in life is the failure to try.

Have a wonderful week one and all,
Doris

Hi dear Doris, it's so nice seeing that you are feeling well again and that you went antique shopping with your daughter and had a great time. So many beautiful things to look at. I never heard of pickle castors, but they are beautiful.

Having a Margarita is OK by me. I'm so glad that you had a great time.

Thanks for stopping by my blog and leaving such a nice comment.

Really, I don't work that hard. I spend some time at the computer sometimes, lol. I just need to keep busy.

Hugs,
Julia

Hi Doris,
That does sound like a fun day. Nothing better than spending a few hours window shopping with good company. Your meal sounds wonderful too.
Now I am really curious about what fun you are having on Wednesday!

Glad you have gotten out and about - shame you live too far to come visit me while I work at the antique co-op for the day - one dealer has tons of that roseville, carnival glass, fenton, etc. Shopping is always fun
