MEET MARGARET WENGER

A week ago today was the regular meeting
of the Boonsboro Chapter of ATHA.  This was the
first time since its inception, several years
ago. that an "outside" speaker had been
invited to give the program.
What a joy it was!
MEET MARGARET WENGER!

Here is Margaret at the beginning of her program.
Her specialty is hooking with alternative
materials.  This Sunflower was a beauty.  The center
was all raised above the other hooking.
The petals were prodded and the materials were beautiful.
Part of the audience.  Look at the intensity in
the backs - they were all ears!
 A lovely horses head
These dragon flies were awesome!  The
materials were stunning.

This dragonfly was "glittery" and took
the eye of many of the attendees.

House and garden scene also done in alternatives.
Many of us, including me, were astonished by thenumber and types of materials
Margaret used.
This unfinished horse is Margarets current
project and it is a stunner!
These are the alternative materials that she
brought to show us and also she
very graciously snipped off some strips and let us
try hooking with them,

All in all, a very successful program.
Frankly, I have never seen this group of ladies
so enthusitic about any thing.
Margaret really got their attention
and the room was alive and "abuzz"
when she completed her program,

I would like to say a personal "Thank You" to Margaret for coming to Boonsboro since I was the one that suggest her as our guest speaker.  She sure woke the attendees up with her wide array of rug and hooking materials.  Thank you, Margaret!

Hopefully the members of this chapter will see the great learning experiences that are available to chapters and make the most of them in the future.

Until next time - keep the hooks moving!

Wow is the word that comes to mind as I take a close look on these rugs and the alternate material that Margaret uses.

I can see why there's so much interest.
It's great seeing you post again.
I hope that you're keeping warm and dry. It's raining quite a bit here with more on the way for tomorrow.

Hugs, JB

Hi Doris,
So happy to see you posting again. Wish I could have been there to attend that interesting and fun lecture. We saw some of this at Southern Teacher's Workshop this year and I was just as excited with the use of alternative materials as these gals were. Hugs to you. Jill
