THE LION
Finished at last!
I loved doing this piece, designed by
Edythe O'Neill
I wish I could have gotten a better picture of him
but maybe the close-ups will do it.
Since he is king of the jungle I have embellished
his mane with a "diamond" studd.
In this picture the mane loo9ks lavender but it is
really a soft ecru with darker brown accents.
I alove the curve of his tale. It is almost "sexy"
I have hooked it with the same materials as the mane.
These leaves border the whole piece. I used just
what greens I found in my scrap bag. All of them
are soft and muted.
I wanted you to see the background material that
I used. It is Woolrich's blue wool over dyed with
blue and abrashed with green and lavender.
This material was dyed by Helen Connelly Howe
and is the most beautiful piece of abrashed material
I have ever seen. You should see it
when the sun shines on it!
Lots of things have been happening in my
life since I last posted. I have had another birthday -
and I am still wondering where the time has gone.
Lucky person that I am, the kids all got together and I
got a Kindle Fire for a gift. Now! if only I
could figure the thing out!!!!
I have had nother bout with broncitis and
this one was much worst then the first one.
However, the Dr. gave me a clean bill of health
last Friday and I must say it is wonderful
to feel well.
Eloise and I continue to hang out together,
She seems to do a lot of sleeping in this cold
weather. She is strictly an "under cover" girl.
I am still unable to respond to your blogs but I am still
reading about all of you and of course I
remain interested in all of your activies.
Please don't give up on me. I will try to update more often in the
future.
Until next time be safe, stay warm and
count your blessings.
